I really enjoy working in the home with my individual. It's a wonderful way to build a strong rapport with them — it's very individualized care.

0:15

Hi, my name is Kristin Burns and I'm the Director of Nursing at OneWell Healthcare. I look through our plan of care, review his medications, and provide medications on a timely basis.

Sometimes, if the individual is feeling up for it, we may go out into the community, so we come up with a game plan and figure out how we can do that.

0:38

In addition to coordinating his care, being their support, caregiver, and nurse in the home setting is a wonderful feeling — because they get to be in an environment where they feel the most comfortable.

0:54

I can advance my skills by learning the individual's needs, following the plan of care, and using my critical thinking skills to identify assessment changes or opportunities where we need to help and support their health.

1:09

I love the individual I'm working with, and I love the supportive culture that comes with this company. I feel that I'm able to provide a sense of purpose.

1:25

If you're looking for a career change — if you're working in a hospital or a skilled facility and thinking about coming to home care, or even if you've worked in home care before — OneWell is unique. It's very individualized; they value you as a nurse, and you have case managers and supervisors who want to support you.

1:50

Working at OneWell in the home is very different than a hospital. You have one patient you're caring for, whereas on a hospital floor you may have multiple patients. A lot of times hospitals may be understaffed, so you might take on even more patients, and there's a lot of stress with that. Working in home care, you have one individual you get to know and become very close with.
